Dec 26, 2016- CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has claimed that his party had never-ever put forward the proposal for severing Tarai and mountainous districts.
At an interaction programme held on Monday with lawmakers and intellectuals of Tarai-Madhes on 'Madhes Problems: Reality and Misconception', Chairperson Oli pointed out the need of amendment to the federal structure of province number 2 in the constitution.
Leader Oli claimed this when there were media reports that UML was also involved in the making of proposal to alter districts in the existing province number 5.
There are recommendations to integrate mountainous districts including Udayapur, Sindhuli and Makawanpur and interior Madhes in the province number 2, Oli said, accusing Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) of making the proposal to protect their regime.
He further said that it was an ill attempt to portray UML as anti-Madhes party and urged his party leaders and cadres to reach out to their respective regions with high morality. RSS
